Forrest Gump Movie Review

Earning over $677 million worldwide, the drama, Forrest Gump, that took home 6 oscars still strikes as a classic in many hearts. Ranked number 71 on American Film Industry’s 100 best movie list, the director, Robert Zemeckis captures a powerful dimension of an incredible story. Musical genius Alan Silvestri pairs with the unmatched cinematography by Don Burgess into an overall best picture of 1994. The portrayal of the mixed genres of this film brings it home to an overall feel-good movie that’s sure to jerk a tear.
Tom Hanks portrays Forrest Gump, who isn’t all-the-way there; “I’m not a smart man, but I know what love is,” he often says. Simply put, he’s a rather unremarkable man who’s lead to a more than remarkable life by a way of falling into situations through integrity, good intentions, love. While leading the high life, his love, Jenny (Robin Wright-Penn), falls into some rather (bad) unfortunate circumstances mostly due to her casual sex appeal throughout college. His mother (Sally Field) plays a big role in Forrest’s life by her determination in helping him succeed. While enrolled in the military, Forrest meets Bubba (Mykelti Williamson) and Lieutenant Dan Taylor (Gary Sinise) who both end up playing big roles in his life. Bubba, a shrimp-loving soldier, becomes Forrest’s main comrade at boot camp. (Stubborn) Tenacious Lieutenant Dan ends up learning more from the retard, Forrest, than he learns from Dan.
Despite his simple I.Q., Forrest Gump leads quite a the charmed vivacity. He runs through childhood with his best and only friend Jenny. His 'mama' teaches him the ways of life and leaves him to choose his destiny. Entirely without trying, Forrest teaches Elvis Presley to dance, becomes a football star, serves with honor in Vietnam, speaks at an anti-war rally at the Washington Monument, hangs out with the Yippies, defeats the Chinese national team in table tennis, discovers the break-in at the Watergate, (opens) initiates a profitable shrimping business, becomes an original investor in Apple Computers, and decides to run back and forth unceasingly across the country for several years without really understanding the velocity of it all. And let’s not even mention all the presidents he’s met. However, this is all irrelevant to Forrest who can only think of his childhood sweetheart, Jenny, although she makes her own journey through the turbulence of the 1960s and 1970s that is far more troubled than the path Forrest happens upon. Forrest eventually analyzes this about his life, “I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think maybe it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time.”
Although in the end all he wants to prove is that with a little bravery, anyone can love anyone, a touching theme. He learns to love things because as opposed to despite, and whether he knows it or not, he teaches that to the world. A rare, a pure, a perfect ideal. Something is fundamentally wrong by the way the world approaches love; Forrest teaches us that. As Martin Luther King Jr. says, “Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
There are lot of differences between the book and the movie. One big difference is that in the book, Forrest becomes an astronaut and goes to outer space. He meets an ape there named Sue and they crash in the jungle and are taken hostage by cannibals. Which doesn’t happen in the movie. Also in the book, he studied in a school for special children; he didn’t finish university because he wasn’t clever enough during the lessons. He went to a regular school and college in the movie. A lot of the plot-line is changed, they match having a first-person narrator who is at once seemingly naive and acutely sussed. Hence there is great irony in Gump's many triumphs against the odds. In this rewriting of the American dream, anyone can succeed - even an absolute idiot.
The relationship between Forrest and Jenny is probably the most memorable and impacting feeling because we can relate. Even though both characters lived both spectrums of life, the end up coming back to each other. Through the good and the bad, but we always have that one person to really connect with because they are home to us.

Now, what made Forrest Gump such an iconic movie? You could start off with the story of a simple man who (lived) flourished (extremely) exceptionally. But, at the core of this movie is a love story. The powerful love story between Forrest and Jenny prevails in minds and hearts forever. Beyond that, this incredible movie defined an American generation, stumbling from one historical event to another, swept along by circumstances, sometimes thriving into great heroic action, sometimes falling by the wayside. This movie is a must. Your life will never be the same once you see the world through the eyes of Forrest Gump.

The Prince of Egypt

Movie Review: The Prince Of Egypt
Released in 1988 by Dream Works Studies, The Prince of Egypt is a dramatic animated musical that has been adapted from the book of Exodus. In this movie, we follow Moses, who is an arrogant prince of Egypt and eventually comes to lead his people out of Egypt. This film was directed by Brenda Chapman, Simon Wells and Steven Hickner. This film was produced by Penney Finkelman Cox, Sandra Rabins, and Jeffery Katzenberg. It also has a lovely score written by Stephen Schwartz and composed by Hans Zimmer. This music was sung by professionals, with the exception of a few actors. This movie stars Val Kilmer as Moses, Ralph Fiennes as Rameses II, Michelle Pfeiffer as Tzipporah, Sandra Bullock as Miriam, and Jeff Goldblum as Aaron. Outside of Disney films, it is currently the 4th top grossing animated film excluding those made by Disney.
There are many characters in this film and important settings. Yet, I feel a main focus of the movie that created the intensity was the relationship of the brothers, Moses and Rameses, so I feel they’re most important to discuss. Moses had a change in paradigm entirely from beginning to end. He comes across as a common man that you wouldn’t expect to follow initially. He sort of fell into his leadership as opposed to seeking it out, which most watchers love and come to admire in a main role as his. “You’ve chosen the wrong messenger,” Moses starts, “how can I even speak to these people?” also, “Who am I to lead these people?” He seems very human, and with his big role is hard to find. He is very relatable and a great main character. In Rameses, you see he has to choose between his legacy and his family, and then you’re sunk into his internal drama further in the story. Rameses has a blend of bitterness and love throughout that is very developed in his lines. He talks highly of his legacy, “I am the morning and the evening star, I am Egypt,” yet his brother shrewd of importance, as he admits to Moses, “you were always there for me.” Rameses and Moses have a conflict of values which builds great intensity and really draws you into the story.
The story starts out with a baby Moses and his family having to send him away in a basket down a river, due to the death threat of the higher political power. This is important, that Moses is a Hebrew and not actually of the lineage which he was forced into. The Pharaoh’s wife found the basket that Moses was in and raised him as a naïve and apathetic child, whether that was her intention or not. His brother in royalty, Rameses, is also that child, so it is probably due to their location, deep within the walls of the palace. There is a bond that is shown between the brothers, yet Rameses is condemned by his overbearing father since he is the heir. Rameses is determined to not be the weak link. In the middle, Moses finds out about his lineage and ends up running out of Egypt through seemingly endless dessert lands. He stumbles into the lands of the Midianites who do not worship Egyptian gods, but rather the Hebrew God. A new supporting character is introduced, Tzipporah. Moses ends up saving her and her sisters from bandits and is welcomed into the home of Tzipporah’s father, Jethro. Moses becomes a shepherd and gradually earns the respect and trust of those around him. He eventually marries Tzipporah. One day, Moses stumbles into a sacred area where he is confronted by God where his destiny is revealed: to lead the children of Israel, the Hebrew slaves, out of Egypt. With his wife at his side, Moses lovingly greets Rameses, only to inform him of their conflicting legacies. Rameses’ heart is heartened and is unable to be persuaded by Moses. Moses ends up gaining the Israelite’s trust. God sends plagues that Moses warns the people about. Rameses then tells Moses and his people to leave.
Themes are interpretive and I’ve found many themes in this movie, but my favorite is the sense of a true, higher power that I saw that correlated with a lot of other things in this movie. This can also be interpreted, either as the conquering power of the humble Israelites that can overrun those who have more political power yet false ideals, or to God who was able to lead the people through their trials through Moses, the medium. The Israelites, for example, were able to work together and get out of the Egypt with the help of their righteous leader, Moses, who knew what was best for the people, who had developed into a merciful character. When discussing God as the true higher power, it is plain to see why God is superior to gods they worshipped with the bird-eye-view we have. The miracles performed to show the ‘power’ of the Egyptian gods all seemed to be more magic, in the sense of smoke and mirrors. There were constant bright lights and flashes, while God’s miracles were clean and pure.
The Prince Of Egypt can easily be compared to the 1956 film, The Ten Commandments, directed by Cecil B. DeMille. They are both epic adoptions from the book of Exodus, so it’s easy to compare them. Yet they weren’t telling the exact same story. There were different angles, scales, and a different spin on the main characters. For example, Rameses is entirely different. In The Ten Commandments, Rameses is very cold-hearted, cunning, and cares nothing for anyone or anything except for his legacy. In contrast, in The Prince of Egypt, Rameses is the product of his environment. A tetrad soul who still loves his brother, but is under the psychological grip of his overbearing father. Therefore, Rameses comes across as more tragic, having to go against his own brother. Fienne’s version of Rameses is simply more complex, yet can still match the same vengeance that Brynner’s Rameses has. The God is also different. For Example, in The Ten Commandments, God is kind of badass and is seemingly very omnipotent. In The Prince Of Egypt however, God is very clever. The way the bush is drawn also very much adds to it. It looks as if it’s not of this world. It creates fire to be very comforting. His voice is also soothing and loving. This is entirely different from the brash God in The Ten Commandments.
This can be easily applied. A big concept is where true power lies in the people and the importance of a good leader. For example, how Moses was able to lead the people out. How the power of the Hebrew God frustrated Rameses so much that he told them to leave. The children of Israel worked for their freedom. With the help of Moses, a virtuous and righteous leader, they were able to prosper. Moses’ values are important, too. He came to understand that he shouldn’t command others, and to be empathetic. An understanding of empathy, correct morals and values, and knowing that one person can influence a nation’s future is important concepts we can take from this compelling masterpiece.
I love this movie and I think it’s extremely underrated. You hear animated musical mixed with Bible, you automatically think disaster. Although, I think it was very well done. There is a lot of depth and insightful, creative character development that is interesting to analyze. Even the cheesy comedy in the beginning between the two brothers builds some of the plot later in the story. It creates a great contrast to the later draw. It is overall a very dramatic film. There are some problems, but this movie knows that the most fascinating element is between the relationship of Moses and Rameses. They knew that would draw people in, allowing the audience to empathize. They portrayed this important element so well. It is a great watch. I recommend it.

I'm in love with a doctor.

I googled "super spiffy sunglasses" on google (no!), and this was the first result.

I don't get it. Why are these sunglasses super spiffy? Maybe they're spiffy because the guy wearing them has a really full upper lip. And then when you put the sunglasses on someone else, BAM! They're no longer spiffy and can't even be classified under 'spiffy sunglasses'.

So, it's 2 AM and I can't sleep. So naturally, I came on here to talk to no one. Gotta love that. :)

Hmm, new stuff new stuff...
Uh.
I'm moving. I guess that's new.
Where? Africa.
No. I'm lying.
Marysville, Washington. Google it, stalkers.
Yeah, in like, two weeks. I don't think I'll believe it's actually happening until I see a new truck in my yard that says some spiffy moving companies name in lights..

Other new stuff...
Well, I'm suddenly completely obsessed with my bass guitar. Well, I guess it wasn't sudden. Well, it was. It just wasn't recent. That was like, six months ago. But the obsession has carried over.
My favorite is my fender squire something something waffles fancy words and numbers something.

Also, I'm a proud 4th time aunt. Welcome to the family baby Addyson.:)

"Hey, where's your party going to be at?"
"It's not grammatically correct to end your sentence like you just did."
"Hey, where's your party going to be at, bitch?"

I had a dream the other day that I was in my advisory class, and they were serving sloppy jose and vegetarian sausages. Then I started eating my sausage and someone told me it was a vegetarian sausage and then I spit it out and started throwing up. It was... different.

If I got a letter from Hogwarts, I'd send them a picture of my lightsaber and say "NO." -This kid named Jet whom I've recently become more acquainted with.

Not that I expect you to do anything, but I just had this realization...
It's my birthday tomorrow o_O
Cool. I'm old. Or something?

Oh, yeah, this band. Mmm. Minus the Bear? Yeah. It's like a drug. AND I ONLY HAVE ONE ALBUM OF THEIRS RIGHT NOW.

Yes, I have a short attention span. No, I don't want fries with that. Yes, I still want the sweet and sour sauce. Yes, 5. No, I'm not single. Wait -- yes I am. But I'll pretend I'm not for your sake. Grow a beard!

This descriptive writing assignment from a while back. Like, December or something.

I looked at its bespoke ebony wood as it shined out. Its pearly keys harmonized with the black all too well. I lifted up its roof and set it on the slender and fragile stand. Now the immaculate melody would resonate throughout the chamber. I spun around to install myself on the bench, positioning it closer. With this, I could execute my goal with a higher degree of perfection. The dimension was so surreal, and so exquisite. It wanted to be touched; it was begging to be played. It wanted its voice to be heard. Finally… my hands stretched out and all at once I was in a vivid and colorful world of light.
The passion that was sewn into my fingers long ago was flying out into its melody. My fingers glided without any control as if the instrument was playing itself. The joy of its beauty was exhibited across my face with an ear to ear grin. I had been so naive before of what this instrument could hold. The sound bounced off the walls with such an alluring elegance, such as I have never heard before. The piece was captured with such perfection. My eyes were suddenly wet. This is everything I had ever wanted to do.

The point was to describe something without naming it. I think I accomplished that :P

Let me know what you think

So, we meet again...

I admit. I practically forgot about this thing/didn't really care.
But then, this awesome, bubbly, and drop dead gorgeous woman told me to post more stuff because she found it to be profound. Whoo! XP
So, as you see, that raised my motivation.
But, ya know, I am a human being and procrastinate. And instead of doing what I need to do, I'm posting this at 2 am XD
It was 1:30, and I was still trying to get to sleep. Then a flying cow knocks on my window, and he's all like "You needa save the world!" "No, I'm tired..." "But people are dying!" "fine..." so I beat up the evil monkeys and saved the world, but I got home at 7:45 and I'm like "crap...." And then I was like ah! I needa puke. But then I didn't, but I felt like I was. I'm better now, but I need a 3 hour nap later.
Now, you see, a lot has happened.
I'm not to sure what all I want to share really because a lot I feel is extremely personal. But, I'll share a few highlights.
1) Ms. MM and I are liking ALL of each others stuff.:)
2) I went to the dentist like, 3 times for fillings >_<
3) I had tried expired milk for the first time, ever XD
4) XDD looks like a double chin laughing man.
5) Got new glasses. FINALLY.
6) babegeous is the best term of endearment ever:)
7) I had Panda Express for the first time ever, and I've had it, like, 3 times since then even though I RARELY eat out XP
8) I've had a bizarre orange juice fetish *-*

10) The show, Willy Wonka.... We had like, 6 different performances! ><
But I made some amazingly fun friends:) (this was at the end of March)
11) Chuck, the show, is awesome.:D
12) Luke, my cousin, came home from his mission.
13) I spent Spring Break in St. George with my best friend. That had been the best week all year, thus far.
14) I went to Seattle on the 16th and got back really really early the 23rd. Saw Evan, Kyle, Maddy, Serena, Kendall, and Danielle. It was really great, bittersweet in some ways, but definitely the best Seattle trip thus far!!!!!
15) I named my slippers Hop and Spaghetti. I'm so weird.
16) I finished my History course and I'm SO close to finishing my vocabulary course
17) Got really good scores on my ISATS (State Standardized Testing)
18) Dream Theater's new drummer is Mike Mangini.
19) Everyone suddenly thinks I'm super pretty. It's weird, but a good weird XP
20) 8 is always more symmetrical.
21) Dance recital was a week ago; went really well. And this Saturday, my dance troop is going to Lagoon to compete and may possibly go to D-land next year.
22) Pajamas has been born! XP

And today, well, I'll just share the highlights.
23) I went to volunteer today with my dad, Nathan Lower, and Stephen. It was nice seeing Stephen and I'm glad that him and I have such a tight bond.
Cora had a party tonight. I ate 1,200 calories worth of ice cream! >_<
Pretty good though, for the most part.

24) Tomorrow is my middle school project thinger and I feel so unprepared. :|

That's it for now-- I seriously need to sleep. ><

Uno, Dose, Three!

I've just realized how long it's been since I've posted anything. I've just been procrastinating about it.
A few things to hit up on, 1) Seattle, 2) Anna, 3) Other friends, 4) School, 5) Something I might've forgot to post on here, but I want to say anyway.

1) Seattle. Beautiful as always. I love that place more than anything. It's just so magical to me that it's rather indescribable. I saw my family of course, my sister Michelle, her husband, and my nephew, Brayden, 8, and my niece, Katelynn, who just turned 1. Katelynn is an amazingly smart 1 year old, and knows a bit of sign language so she can communicate with you. My nephew is so much like me when I was younger. But he's starting to mellow down a bit, which is great. You see, when I was younger, if someone beat me at a game, I would literally flip over the board and run into my room and pout for 10 minutes. He also, like I was, doesn't realize that everybody else isn't as intelligent as he is, which, you know, isn't exactly a great thing. He also has a very particular sense of style and is hard to shop for. But I understand his style and what he's looking for, so we took him shopping and everything that I picked out he liked. That was fun and all, but I also got to see a lot of friends this trip. The first was my lifelong friend, Maddy, whom spent the Saturday with me and my family. That was rather fun and she showed me some pretty wicked sites (http://senorgif.memebase.com/, http://thinkgeek.com)
Sunday was a really fun day; my nieces 1st birthday party! Some fun people were there, and I stole an 8 year olds hat, the cake was really cute and yummy, and my niece got one of those cars that you pedal around with your feet. Katelynn LOVED it and would rarely get out of it the whole time we were up there. She's adorable.
Me in Kaden's panda hat ^-^
Then Monday, I met up at The Golden Corral with my childhood best friend, Nichelle. It was pleasant, but her mom took up most of the talking, which wasn't boring, but wasn't what I expected persay. Just catching up for the most part.
This is me and Nichelle. (She;'s the one with the hat on)
Tuesday I spent out with my parents having dinner with a good family friend, and then playing a really fun game that I hadn't played before, although the name escapes me.
Wednesday was spent mostly at home until 6:30, then I went to mutual with my friend Maddy and was back by 9.
And Thursday I spent from 3:30-7:45 at my friend Evan's house with Maddy and some other friends (Kyle, Danielle, and Tyler). That was the most fun that I had had since.... last summer sometime. And his mom got us pizza! :D haha.

The first is me and a giant spider on my head, The second is me with an akasuki cloak on and Maddy behind me. The reason I look so weird? Well, I was going to do a signature super hero pose, and then I was yelling at Maddy right as Evan took it, so... XD The third is me eating Maddy's arm! We were at Tyler's house (which is two doors down) seeing if he could come and play! <3 :) And so, Danielle knocked on the door, and then he came out, and we were all staring at him and we're like "Come play with us...." @-@..... XD
Then the last one is when everyone else except me and Evan were gone (cause it was Evan's house ya know...) and I have a ball of aluminum foil in my mouth. My left hand's fingers look very broken XD

Friday, I was supposed to meet a friend named Beth, but my parents wouldn't let me cause I had been out too much that week. But it would've been the shortest time out of all, and they could've arranged it too. Yeah, I'm really disappointed about that, but I'll probably be able to meet her when we go back up in June. So that was the day we took Brayden shopping. Then, Michelle and Kris (her husband), went to a lock down with the youth in their church (they're the youth pastors). We stayed home of course and played monopoly. My sister won. Then a little later, I web cam chatted with Evan and Beth for the better part of an hour, and then went to bed.
Saturday was the day we were leaving, but we went to Burger King for a 4/7 (It was 2 birthdays) year olds birthday party. XD Their parents are good friends of Kris and Michelle's, and we'd gotten to know them quite a bit, so we were invited as well. Then from there we went to Seattle to catch our plane. And, yes, I wore a Burger King crown all the way home!! XD

The first is me and Katelynn, the next is Brayden, my mom, my dad, Me, Katelynn, and my sister Cora.

And this is me at home as I threaten you with my power of summoning banana's. X3

Dose, Anna. She's coming next weekend (the 18th). This is the list of things that we're going to do ^-^
1) Kill more zombies
2) Make a music video
3) Send fan mail to Smosh
4) If it's not freezing, another photo shoot
...5) Put frosting and sprinkles on toast
6) Make art out of goldfish, paper, paperclips, and glitter
7) Cover the fridge in post-its for no reason whatsoever
8) And if we go out of town, we're going to ______ and sitting down by random people
9) Ask people at the grocery store to marry us
10) Glue a quarter to the ground and see how many people pick it up
11) Do the rope prank
12) I.G.? :)
13) Tell Ghost stories
14) Wear our pirate stuff while doing it all (and our ninja stuff if we have any)
15) Convince bacon that we're awesomer than it
16) Write a new song (Pasture of Muppets?)
17) Write 'Da Rules'

Shouldn't be hard. Sounds like a normal weekend with my wife :')

I know, I know. We're a bit nutso. But we like it that way. So deal.
Oh, and here are my faves from our most recent photo shoot. ^-^

This one is now her profile picture ^-^

This one, a semi-professional photographer helped me edit.
Yeah, I plan on photoshopping a guy in this one. I think it'd be cute if I can get it right ^-^

And that's my favorite :')

Honestly? I just spent ten minutes working with this thing to get another space to type without the pictures moving. That was EXTREMELY frustrating and unnecessary and I felt like I was about to cry. Just voicing that out. Bleh.....
ANYWAY. I honestly can't remember what I was going to say when I said "Other Friends" earlier, so we're going to pretend that isn't there.
4! School. Yeah, I'm not sure why this is important either XD Well, I've been doing well.... I'm reading a book.... and fluff. Now you know. You can have your eternal salvation now. Congrats.
6! The play! Willy Wanka and the Chocolate Factory is the play, and I pretty much have an extra part, but I'm still really happy with it. Yes, I'm an Oompa Loompa. And a kid. And a cook. I've learned so much about the voice, and diction, that I'm really quite blown away. I didn't realize that there was so much too it. This is definitely the best instructor that I've ever had and I'm soo happy! :)
I made blueberry pancakes this morning. Just thought I'd let you know.
Next week, Valentines. Oh boy :P
Sorry this post is so long.
Yeah, I'm eating goldfish. Be jealous.
That's all I have to say. Now you know. K. Bye. :3

Nana nana!

Alright. So today, I pretty much ate my whole calorie intake through brownie bites. I'm not sure what it is, cause I'm usually not much of a brownie person, but I downed five every time I walked past the plate that they were on!
But beyond that... my 17 year old brother had his Eagle (scout) coronation Sunday which was pretty cool. Good company and the sort.
So, his girlfriend Amanda was there too, and she gave me a late birthday present (that she forgot to grab for my birthday party) which was an Evanescence piano/guitar book for their album Fallen. It's fun :D
Also, my best friend stayed the weekend, which was really fun of course. We didn't to anything too crazy, but we had a winter/outside photo shoot that turned out soo awesome! Lemme know if you want photos or anything.
In relatively 36 hours, I will be leaving for Seattle :D Super excited for that. But I think I'll still be able to post something up there. Faster internet connection...? Yes!
My 1st semester ends this Friday. Just another thing.
Had a spa night tonight with some friends. I thought it was pretty fun and it's always good to have a different color on your nails and the sort.
I heart my wife :D
Not to much else I believe. So, ta ta for now. :)

Of course...!

I didn't post yesterday because I wasn't finished with my post before I had to go to bed. Bleh :(

Anyway. So far, this year has been super amazing. The time spent with my nephew and sister was fabulous. Ms. MM got to come over which was pretty fun. I've newly discovered a chicken on my window? ahaha. I've made a lot of progress in school so my parents can trust me more as well. And I got to see one of my favorite people and have one of my dreams turn into a reality. :) <3
Although, I will not say more on that cause I don't know who's reading this. But, uh, if you wanna know, hit me up.
Also, my ex sent me an invitation to become friends on windows live? It was a little odd and out of no where (especially since he said he never wanted to talk to me again). But after about 10 minutes of thought, I accepted it. Hopefully we'll be friends. I don't want to be anything more. We did chat last night for like, 20 minutes or so. And to be honest, it seemed to go over really well and it felt natural. Maybe I'll get to see him next week when I go up to Washington? That'd be kind of cool actually.
I do have high hopes for this year. It needs to be good so life can pay me back for last year. As I may have complained earlier (forgot if I did or not...) life pretty much sucked last year. Until like October. Then it slowly made it's way back up. Now it's better than the normal and hopefully it will stay that way. :)

That leaves me to invite you to let me know how your year has been going so far and what you hope happens this year. Hopefully happy things and not for something to eat someone or someone to fall off a bridge. That's not so happy. Haha :)

Well, Imma go paint my nails now.

Much love,
Genevieve

Hey..... you.

Yes, you. I believe I've neglected you for a while. And as much as I hate to say it, I don't have time right now to write a lengthy post. But check back Tuesday! I'm booked tomorrow :P

12.26.2010

They are purple.

This poem. I wrote it a while ago. Like end of March 2010 a while ago. Thought about it today. Thought I'd share it. Edited it a little. Huggles.

Think Before You Act

From the dim glow behind her
You see her ebony silhouette
Her hair tied high in the air
An image you can't forget

Inside her mind was a false past
Dripping in her salt crusted tears
Not satisfied with any part of herself
Wishing she could rewind time by the years

Her hands by her sides
Drenched in pain from her thoughts
She could learn no lessons from others
For her life could only be self-taught

She looked low toward the ground
Knowing the direction she had to go
She knew what she had to do
But she had to be willing to grow

She regrets all the lies
That she could never explain why she said them
She never really knew herself
And why she craved all the attention

She didn't know what to say anymore
She truly could not explain
Did they love her enough to understand?
Or would they only see what she became?

Many times she broke promises to herself
All saying the same thing
To never lie again
But the more it slipped without thinking

Although she tried not to
She had more lies to say
To cover the ones from before
More and more each day

To much she had taken
Beaten deep within her soul
Memories she couldn't erase
Time was taking it's toll

Her time here had ended
She knew it was too late
Now, the end had come
And she reached the pearly gate

So many things she had to confess
But too soon she slipped away
Now they were all there
It was long past due, she truly had to say

Before she could even start
There were tears streaming down her face
It was the hardest to say them now
Because her image she had disgraced

So much she had to say
But there was more to be heard
She didn't know where to begin
All the lies, so absurd

She chocked out all the words
Explaining the lie she was living
All of them frowned in disappointment
But unexpectedly, they were forgiving

For they explained themselves
That they had more sins to compare
She couldn't believe what she was hearing
Even these... they wouldn't dare

Worse things then one could imagine
The things the others said
They all should of said them earlier
Instead of having that moment to dread

We all make mistakes
And although you may think there is no repair
There is another way around
Don't live that moment of despair

Christmas was alright. I wasn't too excited. I was more excited about what I had gotten for my siblings. But come Tuesday, I will be headed on a train to my nephew's house in Elko. I'm more excited for that than Christmas. So I'd thought I'd do something today because I know I wont be able to get online Tuesday. Hope you all enjoyed the holidays and continue to do so. I'll probably have one more post before this long year is over. But if not; party hard, loves.

Apologies and second glances

I apologize that due to this post, I have now posted three days in a row. It's quite rude to say that I will try not to post as much and bore you with it's ordeals, but at least you're still here and don't hate me.
Good news! The fact that I actually go around and tell people about this almost non-existent thing, I have 5 followers....! I know, one of them is me as you can see, but I love my blog. It's beautiful. Well, I think it is. Judge me, or judge me not, I do what I will and you can't make me do or think otherwise. Ha! I indeed have control. Now deal your cards.

Now for the real reason that I have put up, as I die saying these words, a third post this week....
http://therandomramblingsofmm.blogspot.com/
That should speak for itself. Although, I will give a translation for those of you who don't speak Braille.
This is the blog of the amazing, humorous, and charming, Ms. MM. MM stands for awesome of course. Idiots. So, go check it out. Hopefully it will keep you amused as opposed to this boring, deadful, and deadly, post. Deadly? Deadly you ask? Well, because obviously, posts will spread my notarealinfectionitis. I know you knew that. It's common sense. Yet you continue to risk your life. And you accuse my false doings of calling you idiots? Well.... It just might be true. Actually, you know what? If someone else said this, I probably wouldn't have thought it the spreading notarealinfectionitis. I apologize. For a second time now. And a third for calling you idiots. My readers are not idiots. They are glorious for finding, FOLLOWING COUGH COUGH COUGH, and continuing their interest in a senseless blog like this. Congratulations. You're no longer square. For you are rectangular. Not a square rectangle, but an actual rectangle rectangle. Which all in all means you continue to read these practically senseless and pointless words. Yay for rectangles!! I'm the purple kind by the way. Just letting you all know. Idiots.

...Is This Real Enough?

Well, I have a few things to share. Not about life persay, but about my imagination and it's contents.
First off, I have a confession to make. Today I had a bloody nose. Yes, yes. It bled. And bled. And bled. And I'm infected with notarealinfectionitis. I know. It's scary and deadly. But in fact, while said nose was bleeding, it dripped onto page 191 of my English book as I was finishing up an assignment. I set the book down, pinched my nose, and ran across the hallway into my room to grab a kleenex or 5. It was honestly a long nose bleed. And also, as my nose bleeds always do, blood came from my mouth. During the whole adventure, at one point the blood from my mouth embarked onto my pale, slightly chapped lips. As I was about to wipe it off I had to stare in the mirror that I had been facing for a moment. I really was looking like a vampire, and not only that but it all looked like.... a twisted and haunting beauty. I went to cleanse my face and was still thinking about it's disgusting beauty from earlier wishing that I had gotten a picture of it. After my face had no sign of gore, I went back to my sitting place and stared at my English book as an idea was swirling in my head. I grabbed the Canon EOS digital rebel xti that was sitting on the computer desk from earlier along with the English book that was still open and went back into my room. Although, by the time I'd finished cleaning up, the blood on my English book had more or less stiffened to the point that if I tried to wipe it off, it would only rip the weak pages. I didn't have time to be disappointed about that. I didn't even think much about it. As I went into my room, I quickly painted the nails my right hand with a black coat of polish and created my idea. I dimmed the lights and went to work. Afterward, as horrific as it looked, I loved it. Here are my favorites or the results.

Remember how I said that I had a few things to share? Well, number 2. My blog title. I had three people specifically asked why I named this blog "Under the Mask". I thought it should have been self explanatory, but I guess not. You see, most people know me as someone I'm not. I have my secrets and hidden interests and numerous other things pertaining to the sort. This is mainly to let it out, and for you to view under my mask that hides my sorrows and the things pertaining to it. I mean, I'm not saying my smiles are fake, my laughter is a myth, or that my happiness is transparent, but as a human being, there's more pain then you may realize. There are a few fake smiles here and there. And I'm letting you know exactly what they might be. Even at that, I'm probably saying this all wrong. This is just showing what I want, my goals, what I want to accomplish, and the person who is truly hiding under a facade. This probably doesn't sound like my posts at all, but slowly but surly, I hope to open up.

Now, onto other things that do not pertain to my complex mind. Tonight is the YW Christmas party. I'm rather exited for it because they have been good to me in the past. We're exchanging white elephant gifts, eating food (hopefully. I like food and hope it's there), and enjoying each others company. For my white elephant gift, I have some Hello Kitty silly bandz, the album Thankful (Kelly Clarkson (You see, I used to like that sort of music, but not anymore and they're just sitting there.), a light blue sock (singular) with unicorns on it, and cherry (unopened of course) chap stick. I don't like cherry anyway and have plenty of other chap sticks. I'm excited to see what I am to get.

Unfortunately, the flight my mother was hoping to get on to come home was canceled. But she is on a flight now I believe and will hope to be home really early this morning according to what the weather does.

And now, I don't believe I have anything else that is currently on my mind to write down. So do your doings, click the follow button, leave love and comments, loves.

Oh, and if I don't get back to you, enjoy your Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/whatever else you may celebrate. Appreciate your gifts and blessing, eat mass consumptions of food, share warm feelings with family and friends, and try to stay warm. I hate it when my friends get hypothermia.
And remember, He is the reason for the season. :)
